1. ISO 12944 Environmental Classes & Marine Environments

Under ISO 12944-2, C4 (High) covers coastal zones within 1-3km, while C5-M (Very High - Marine) designates shorelines directly exposed to salt spray and high salinity. Standard 25-micron polyester coatings permit rapid chloride penetration to the steel substrate.
